Guangdong Delegation Visits Laem Chabang Port and EECO

to Explore Investment Opportunities

 

Chonburi, Thailand – May 13, 2025

          The Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO), led by Mr. Nusthi Khaneekul, Director of the Investment Strategy and Promotion Division, in collaboration with the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Guangzhou, headed by Consul-General Mr. Kajtiti Wiwatwanont, welcomed a delegation of investors from Guangdong Province, People's Republic of China, to Laem Chabang Port in Si Racha District, Chonburi Province to explore investment opportunities and gain insights into the region’s logistics and industrial development.

The visit featured two key components:

1. Site Visit to Laem Chabang Port

The delegation was welcomed by Mr. Weerachart Phuttharaksa, Assistant Director of Laem Chabang Port, along with port officials. The group received a comprehensive briefing on the port’s operations and its strategic role as Thailand’s premier deep-sea port within the national logistics network. The presentation also highlighted future development plans, including Phase 3 of the Laem Chabang Port Development Project and infrastructure investments aimed at supporting the growth of maritime transport.

2. Investment Promotion Briefing by EECO

Following the port visit, the delegation attended a session led by EECO officials, who provided an overview of the agency’s operations and investment promotion strategies within the EEC arae. The briefing covered key target industries, procedures for establishing Special Economic Zones, and the range of investment incentives available to foreign investors.

This visit reflects the growing interest among Chinese investors in the EEC’s strategic location and robust infrastructure, reinforcing the region’s role as a key hub for international trade and investment in Southeast Asia.
