The Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee

approved the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Comprehensive Development Plan at its third meeting of 2023 on 24 November 2023, and the Cabinet acknowledged the framework on 11 March 2025. The framework outlines five strategic directions:

1) Promote investment in targeted industries and future-oriented services.
2) Enhance efficiency and utilization of infrastructure and public utilities.
3) Upgrade workforce skills to keep pace with technological and innovative transformation.
4) Develop modern, livable, and productive cities.
5) Leverage investment benefits to foster sustainable community development.

The plan targets total actual investments of THB 500 billion between 2023 and 2027 (an average of THB 100 billion per year), with the Gross Provincial Cluster Product (GPCP) of the EEC expected to grow by 6.3% annually. The ultimate goal is to improve people’s income, quality of life, society, and environment. This will position the EEC as a model for integrated regional development and a prime destination for global investors and residents.
