
On 17 November 2025, Mr. Korkij Danchaivichit, Deputy Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), represented the Office at the Ignite Thailand–Korea Business Forum 2025, held under the theme “Strengthening Korea–Thailand Business Cooperation: Strategies and Pathways” at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok. The forum was co-organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul and Herald Media Group to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and economic strategy between Thailand and the Republic of Korea. The event attracted strong interest from the business community, with more than 500 participants, including several high-level VVIPs from both countries, such as: Mr. Ekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Mr. Jung Wonju, Chairman of Daewoo E&C, Herald Media Group, Mr. Lee Hack Young, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Republic of Korea, Ms. Kwon Hye-Jin, Deputy Minister for Trade negotiations at the Trade Minsitry of Korea, Ms. Chotima Lemsawasdikul, Director-General of the Department of Trade Negotiations, and Mr. Narit Therdsteerasukdi, Secretary General of the Board of Investment (BOI).


During the forum, EECO delivered a presentation highlighting investment opportunities in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), policies promoting future industries, and potential areas for collaboration with Korean private-sector partners in advanced technology, smart infrastructure, and digital industries.


Following the forum in Bangkok on 18 November 2025, Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary-General of EECO, welcomed the delegation from the Republic of Korea at the EEC Office in Chonburi. The meeting focused on in-depth discussions regarding investment opportunities in the EEC, infrastructure development plans, industrial connectivity, and long-term cooperation frameworks between government agencies and private-sector partners of both countries.
The dialogue and site visit played a key role in strengthening confidence among Korean investors, helping to pave the way for new investments in Thailand’s strategic industries.
