Powers and Duties
- Serve as the administrative and academic secretariat of the EEC Policy Committee.
- Submit recommendations to the EEC Policy Committee concerning operations under Section 11 and Section 12 of the Eastern Economic Corridor Act B.E. 2561 (2018).
- Conduct preliminary studies and analyses of potential impacts arising from the formulation and implementation of policies, plans, and measures related to the EEC development, and propose preventive, corrective, or remedial measures to the EEC Policy Committee.
- Supervise, monitor, and report on the progress of the EEC development to the EEC Policy Committee at least once every three months.
- Prepare and submit an annual report on compliance with this Act to the Cabinet for presentation to the House of Representatives and the Senate for acknowledgement.
- Conduct feasibility studies for the designation of Special Economic Promotion Zones.
- Invest or co-invest with domestic and foreign parties in activities beneficial to the development of the EEC and Special Economic Promotion Zones.
- Establish limited companies or public limited companies to engage in businesses beneficial to the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor and the Special Economic Promotion Zones.
- Mobilize funds for the operation of the Office.
- Perform any other functions as stipulated in the Eastern Economic Corridor Act B.E. 2561 (2018), other laws, or as assigned by the Cabinet or the EEC Policy Committee.
