Legislation Governing the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) is anchored in the Eastern Economic Corridor Act B.E. 2561 (2018). This landmark legislation establishes the overarching framework for administration, investment promotion, and facilitation within the EEC area. It formally created the Eastern Economic Corridor Policy Committee (EECC) and its operational body, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO), to systematically drive development. The Act confers authority for spatial planning, the promotion of infrastructure projects, Public–Private Partnership (PPP) investments, smart city development, and the granting of special privileges to investors. Moreover, it mandates the integration of government agencies to streamline and expedite licensing and permitting processes.
