EECO Welcomes Representatives from the ASEAN Cultural Promotion Council and Shanghai International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises on Their Visit to Thailand to Promote Concrete Economic and Investment Cooperation in the EEC

On 27 January 2026, Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), represented by Dr. Cholachit Vorawangso Virakul, Assistant Secretary-General of EECO, welcomed Dr. Prakai Na Songkhla, President of the ASEAN Cultural Promotion Council, and Mr. Yanzhuo Ray, Executive Director from Shanghai International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises during their visit to Thailand. The visit aimed to promote tangible economic and investment cooperation between Thailand and China.

During the meeting, Dr. Cholachit presented an overview of development in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), including policy directions and investment promotion measures for industries related to the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy, with particular emphasis on clean energy. Information was also provided on investment incentives, approval and permitting processes, and procedures for implementing investment projects in the EEC area. On this occasion, both sides exchanged views and information on investment potential in the EEC, as well as trends in target industries aligned with the area’s development policies, such as solar farm projects, microgrid systems, energy storage systems, and related energy infrastructure.

In this regard, representatives of Shanghai International Cooperation Association of Small and Medium Enterprises expressed plans to disseminate information on EEC development to Chinese investors interested in expanding their investments in Thailand, particularly within the EEC area, in the future.
