
The Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) organized the Thailand EEC – Chengdu Investment Promotion Roadshow 2026 at Sichuan Jinjiang Hotel, Chengdu, Sichuan Province, People’s Republic of China, to promote economic and investment cooperation between Thailand and Western China. The event attracted strong interest from the business community, with more than 350 leading Chinese technology enterprises participating.
This activity formed part of EECO’s investment promotion mission focusing on digital target industries, conducted during 9–13 March 2026. The mission was organized in collaboration with the Sichuan Youth Entrepreneurs Center and received support from the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Chengdu, with the aim of strengthening partnership networks and creating new investment opportunities between Thai and Chinese enterprises.
During the event, Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) of Thailand, delivered a keynote address titled “EEC Opportunities for Prosperity.” In his remarks, he highlighted the strengths of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as Thailand’s flagship economic development zone, emphasizing its infrastructure readiness, investment promotion policies and incentives, and the long-term potential for industrial and technological cooperation between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China. Participants were also presented with an official video introducing the EEC, which serves as a key economic development area aimed at advancing targeted industries and high-technology development, as well as supporting Thailand’s transition toward becoming a Thailand Digital Hub.
A major highlight of the event was the signing ceremony for Letters of Intent (LOIs) between EECO and Chinese enterprises and organizations. A total of 10 projects were signed, representing an estimated investment value of approximately USD 1 billion. The ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Sake Nopthaisong, Consul General of Thailand in Chengdu.
Participating companies represented a wide range of advanced technology sectors, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), robotics and robotic dogs, eVTOL aircraft, artificial intelligence (AI), the digital economy, commercial satellites, telecommunications, geothermal energy, new energy vehicles, and batteries, which are closely aligned with the EEC’s targeted industries.
The success of the Thailand EEC – Chengdu Investment Promotion Roadshow 2026 marks another important milestone in strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Thailand and the People’s Republic of China, particularly with the Western China region. It also reinforces the role of the EEC as a key platform for industrial development, technological innovation, and cross-border economic collaboration between the two countries in the future.
