On 18 February 2026, Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), together with Mrs. Cholachit Vorawangso Virakul, Assistant Secretary-General, discussed with Mr. Abe Ichiro, President of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO Bangkok), and Mr. Sato Hiroyasu, President of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce, Bangkok (JCC Bangkok), along with executives from JCC and JETRO. The meeting aimed to exchange views on promoting economic cooperation between Thailand and Japan and also report on the results of the Economic Trend Survey of Japanese Corporations in Thailand for the second half of 2025.

The JCC Bangkok has conducted this economic trend survey biannually for 55 years, since 1971. It is regarded as the only comprehensive survey reflecting the business conditions of Japanese joint venture companies operating in Thailand. This year, the survey was sent to 1,677 member companies of JCC, with 521 companies responding—representing a response rate of 31.1%. The official press conference was held on 27 January 2026 to announce the results.
