EECO Welcomes Canadian Delegation Elevating Cooperation in Infrastructure and Rail Technology within the EEC
On May 8, 2026, Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), assigned Mr. Tharit Issarayangyun, Deputy Secretary-General, to welcome the Canada Delegation. Led by Mr. Martin Beaulieu, President and Strategic Advisor of Sherpa International, the delegation included representatives from investment promotion agencies and government bodies such as Investissement Québec, Invest Ontario, and the Trade Commissioner Service (Embassy of Canada). The visit, coinciding with the Asia Pacific Rail 2026 event, aimed to explore investment opportunities in infrastructure and transportation systems within the EEC, specifically regarding rail systems and the Aerotropolis, to foster strategic collaboration and high-tech transfer with Thailand.
The discussion also featured leading Canadian private firms in the rail and engineering sectors, including Resologi, Willowglen, TISEC, and Eddyfi Technologies. These companies sought to better understand EEC Priorities and the details of both ongoing and future projects.
This meeting represents a significant step in attracting world-class innovation to support New S-Curve industrial development, aligning with EECO policies to elevate the EEC into a modern logistics and infrastructure hub, driving Thailand toward becoming a sustainable regional economic and transportation center.
