On August 13, 2026, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) welcomed H.E.Mr. Cheevindh Nathalang, Ambassador of Thailand to Madrid, along with representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting aimed to discuss policies, potential, and investment opportunities in the EEC, with a specific focus on promoting Spanish private sector investment in target industries and high-technology sectors.

During the meeting, EECO highlighted the EEC’s strategic position as the center of Southeast Asia. The EECO detailed the country’s transition towards high-tech industries across five main clusters: Medical and Health, Digital, Next-Generation Automotive, BCG (Bio-Circular-Green), and High-Value Services. Additionally, the EECO presented its upcoming “EECiti” megaproject, covering 15,000 rai, which is currently undergoing market sounding.
