EECO and Bank of China (Thai) Sign MOU to Strengthen Investment Cooperation in the EEC
18 May 2026 — The Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) and Bank of China (Thai) Plc. (BOCT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on investment promotion cooperation in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) at the headquarters of Bank of China (Thai).
The signing ceremony was officiated by Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Ph.D., Secretary-General of the EECO, and Mr. Liu Quanlei, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of BOCT.
This collaboration aims to strengthen investment cooperation between China and the EEC, with a focus on targeted industries such as electric vehicles (EV), digital technology, modern healthcare, and clean energy. Both organizations are committed to fostering a favorable investment environment that supports business expansion and long-term economic development.
Under the MOU, the two parties will jointly organize seminars and business matching activities to promote investment opportunities in Thailand, while also exchanging information and business insights related to operations within the EEC. The collaboration will further support
the development of targeted industries aligned with the strategic priorities of both countries.
In addition, the partnership seeks to enhance the business ecosystem and strengthen human capital development to support future industrial growth. This collaboration marks another important step toward advancing sustainable economic cooperation between Thailand and China.
