22 July 2026 – Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Ph.D. Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), led EECO executives and officials in attending the opening ceremony of the Thailand–China Cooperation Expo 2026, presided over by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, at Challenger Hall 2, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s policy of promoting foreign investment, particularly in future industries, innovation, and advanced technology, and reiterated its commitment to developing infrastructure, strengthening the investment ecosystem, and facilitating investors—all aimed at building confidence and positioning Thailand as a regional investment hub. He further noted the pivotal role of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in driving national economic growth and attracting investment.

Following the opening ceremony, the Prime Minister visited EECO’s investment consultation desk—the first of its kind to be featured at the Thailand–China Cooperation Expo—which provided information on investment opportunities, incentives, promotional measures, target industries, the development of special economic promotional zones, and EECO’s One Stop Service for investment facilitation. The desk drew sustained interest throughout the event from Chinese investors and entrepreneurs, as well as businesspeople across a range of industries, with many visitors seeking information, exploring investment feasibility, and discussing business opportunities in the EEC—reflecting continued confidence in Thailand’s potential as a key investment base for future target industries.

In addition, the Secretary-General took part in a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony with Bank of China (Thai) Public Company Limited, aimed at strengthening cooperation to attract Chinese investment to the EEC through investor network linkages, information exchange, and facilitation support for enterprises interested in investing in Thailand. The signing formed part of a broader set of more than 15 cooperation agreements between Thai and Chinese agencies and businesses, spanning trade, investment, technology, and innovation—underscoring the robust economic ties between the two countries.

EECO’s participation in the Thailand–China Cooperation Expo 2026 reaffirms its proactive role in expanding Thai–Chinese investment cooperation, connecting investors with business opportunities in the EEC, and supporting government policy to attract quality investment—further advancing the EEC’s position as a sustainable gateway to future-industry investment in the region.
