
23 July 2026 – Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Ph.D. Secretary-General of the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO), participated as a speaker in the panel discussion entitled “Establishing Business in Thailand with Confidence: Promotion and Facilitation of Foreign Investment”, held as part of the Thailand–China Cooperation Expo 2026 at Challenger Hall, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani.

The panel brought together senior representatives from the Thai and Chinese public and private sectors to exchange perspectives on strengthening Thailand’s investment ecosystem. Distinguished speakers included Mr. Sumet Tangprasert, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT); Mr. Chula Sukmanop, Ph.D., Secretary-General of EECO Mr. Pichotphan Tananon, Executive Vice President, Electronics and Computer Equipment Business Division, Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited; Mr. Zheng Gang, Senior Executive Vice President, Bank of China; and Mr. Sarayut Lekpholiphon, Ph.D., Senior Deputy Managing Director of CHEC (Thailand). The session was moderated by Mr. Prawit Thangthawisuk. The discussion focused on Thailand’s investment promotion and facilitation measures, highlighting strategic locations, infrastructure connectivity, logistics, and financial services that strengthen investor confidence and support business establishment in Thailand.

During the discussion, Mr. Chula outlined the key factors that have positioned the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as a premier destination for investment in future industries. He highlighted four core strengths: (1) ready-to-invest industrial land and world-class infrastructure, including deep-sea ports, airports, and integrated transport networks; (2) reliable and internationally competitive utilities; (3) a skilled workforce developed to meet the needs of modern industries; and (4) the EEC’s special legal framework, which streamlines regulatory procedures, accelerates licensing processes, and enhances the ease of doing business.


Mr. Chula further noted that Chinese investors currently represent the largest source of investment in the EEC, reflecting strong confidence in Thailand’s investment promotion policies, infrastructure development, and long-term economic potential. He emphasized that the EEC is committed to fostering a business-friendly ecosystem that supports the growth of future industries, strengthens Thailand’s competitiveness, and promotes sustainable economic development.
EECO’s participation in the panel underscores its proactive role in communicating the EEC’s investment potential directly to Chinese and international investors, while reaffirming Thailand’s readiness to serve as a leading regional investment destination for future industries.
