EECO Highlights Premier Investment Opportunities at the Russian-Thai Investment Forum 2026

The Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) proactively showcased its role as the primary engine for Thailand’s future economic growth at the 2nd Russian-Thai Investment Forum 2026 (RTIF 2026). Held from October 30-31, 2026, at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Riverside Hotel in Bangkok, the forum operated under the theme “Russia-Thailand: A New Era of Economic Partnership,” aiming to elevate bilateral relations beyond tourism into systematic trade and investment collaboration.

Strategic Vision for Foreign Investment During the Plenary Session on 30 October 2026, Dr. Chula Sukmanop, Secretary General of the EECO, outlined the strategic direction for international investors. He emphasized that the EEC, as Thailand’s flagship special economic zone, offers equal opportunities and a comprehensive One Stop Service. Dr. Chula also highlighted five key sectors ripe for investment: digital infrastructure and data centers, next-generation automotive, medical and life sciences, logistics and aviation, and the bio-circular-green (BCG) economy.
Unlocking Potential in Targeted Industries On 30-31 October 2026, EECO executives took the stage in specialized panel sessions to present actionable investment models:

- New Form of Development: Real Estate Development in Thailand: Dr. Cholachit Vorawangso Virakul, Assistant Secretary General of EECO, participated in the real estate panel to present new development frameworks. She highlighted long-term co-development for EECiti as the capital city of the EEC, presenting joint-venture opportunities in residential, medical, and wellness projects within the EEC.

- Moscow-Bangkok: Partnership and Development: Mr. Korthong Thongtham na Ayutthaya, Acting Director of EECiti Division, presented the progress of the EEC Capital City (EECiti) project, including its infrastructure systems. These developments will be carried out through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, establishing EECiti as a prototype for future smart cities.

- Medicine & Pharmacy of the Future: Mrs. Aphitchaya Srikacha, Director of the Service and Medical Industries Division, discussed Thailand’s ambition to become a regional medical hub. She highlighted ongoing efforts to develop Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) through public-private partnerships, working with the relevant regulatory agencies to build an ecosystem where advanced therapies can be developed and tested in Thailand.

EECiti: The Prototype for Future Smart Cities Throughout the event, the EECO exhibited its flagship urban development, the EEC Capital City (EECiti), at the Government Pavilion. EECiti is designed as a net-zero, fully integrated smart city. The project offers a “Live-Work-Play” environment featuring a central business district, future and precision medicine facilities, and high-tech green manufacturing.

Additionally, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) contributed to publishing information on investment projects in the Russia-Thailand Investment Book to connect potential investors from both countries. This effort particularly highlights EECiti and the U-Tapao Aviation City to promote co-investment opportunities and approaches aimed at elevating Thailand toward its sustainability goals.
