EECO Attends ASEAN – Japan Human Resource Development Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia
The Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) attended the ASEAN – Japan Human Resource Development Forum on May 19, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The participation aimed to present Thailand’s human resource development strategies on a regional stage, under the core concept of driving the manufacturing sector through public-private partnerships. This initiative focuses on developing a workforce capable of responding to the waves of Digital Transformation (DX) and Green Transformation (GX).
At the forum, Dr. Cholachit Vorawangso Virakul, Assistant Secretary General of the EECO, emphasized the significance of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as a prime destination for investors from both Japan and ASEAN countries. She also shared her vision on Japan-ASEAN cooperation to support technological transitions in future industries. Currently, the EECO implements the “EEC Model” as a vital mechanism for demand-driven workforce skill development. This includes fostering close cooperation with strategic partners, such as the Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships (AOTS), to transfer knowledge, advanced technologies, and international standards, thereby accelerating the re-skilling and up-skilling of the Thai workforce for practical operations in smart manufacturing lines.
The participation in this forum reinforces the image of Thailand and the EEC as leaders in infrastructure development aligned with the most advanced human resource development in the ASEAN region, ultimately driving the modern economy and industry towards sustainable growth.
