On 22 July 2026, representatives from the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO) participated in the Thailand–Korea Business Forum: Biohealth, Medtech, Wellness, and Future Food, held at Lotte Hotel, Seoul, Republic of Korea. The forum was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul, in collaboration with the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) and the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), to strengthen economic cooperation and promote investment opportunities between Thailand and the Republic of Korea.
During the event, EECO operated an investment promotion booth to showcase the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), highlighting Thailand’s investment incentives, strategic advantages, and business opportunities, with a particular emphasis on the Medical and Health Industry, one of the EEC’s priority sectors.
In addition, representatives from EECO participated in the Business Matching sessions and 1-on-1 meetings with leading South Korean companies to explore investment opportunities and foster strategic partnerships in the medical and healthcare technology sectors. Discussions focused particularly on companies specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered healthcare solutions, including Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) for precision diagnostics, a key technology driving the advancement of Precision Medicine. During the meetings, EECO representatives highlighted the investment potential and strategic advantages of the EEC, together with the comprehensive investment facilitation services and support measures available to investors. The discussions also reinforced EECO’s commitment to creating a business-friendly investment ecosystem and accelerating the development of the EEC as a regional hub for the Medical Hub, Medical Technology (MedTech), and Health Innovation industries, strengthening Thailand’s position as a leading destination for medical and healthcare investment in this region.
EECO’s participation in the forum further strengthened partnerships between Thai and Korean stakeholders while reinforcing the EEC’s position as a premier investment destination for Korean companies seeking opportunities in Thailand’s fast-growing healthcare and innovation sectors.
