EECO Hosts Knowledge-Exchange Meeting with Zimbabwe to Advance Economic Cooperation
The Eastern Economic Corridor Office (EECO) welcomed a delegation from the Republic of Zimbabwe on the occasion of their official visit to Thailand. The delegation comprised representatives from ZimTrade, the country’s national trade development and promotion agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Zimbabwe, and the Embassy of Zimbabwe.
The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries and to explore avenues for cooperation across various areas, particularly investment, trade opportunities, and knowledge exchange.
Both parties held discussions on key issues, including identifying opportunities for collaboration and promoting mutual market access. In this regard, the delegation expressed interest in studying the potential of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) as a model for advancing the development of Zimbabwe’s own special economic zones, enhancing the nation’s competitiveness, and expanding Zimbabwe’s export opportunities.
On this occasion, the EECO presented information on Thailand’s investment potential as a regional hub and a gateway to Asian markets. This exchange served as an important platform for fostering mutual understanding and opening the way for future cooperation in trade and investment.
The visit marks another significant step in advancing international cooperation and reflects the EECO’s commitment to positioning Thailand as a key destination for investment and collaboration on the global stage.
