The Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO), led by Mr. Korkij Danchaivichit, Deputy Secretary-General, together with an EECO delegation, visited Chengdu, Sichuan Province, People’s Republic of China, from 8–11 June 2026 to strengthen cooperation in digital industries and advanced technologies, while promoting investment opportunities in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), a key strategic area driving the country’s innovation-led economic growth.
The visit built upon the success of the EEC Chengdu Investment Forum held in March 2026, which attracted significant interest from Chinese investors and technology enterprises. During the mission, EECO engaged in in-depth discussions with leading technology companies and industry stakeholders in Sichuan Province to explore opportunities for investment cooperation, technological development, and business connectivity between Thailand and China. As part of the program, the delegation met with several prominent Chinese technology companies, including Sichuan AOSSCI Technology Co., Ltd. and Chengdu JOUAV Automation Tech Co., Ltd., both recognized for their expertise in industrial drone technologies. The delegation also visited Chengdu Yuefan Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., a developer of intelligent robotics and automation solutions, and Chengdu Da Gong Bo Chuang Technology Co., Ltd., a specialist in counter-drone and low-altitude security technologies. In addition, the delegation toured Liando U Valley Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park to gain insights into smart industrial park development and advanced support systems for technology enterprises.
Discussions focused on emerging industries and future technologies, including drone technology, the low-altitude economy, intelligent robotics, industrial automation, smart manufacturing, airspace security systems, and advanced digital technologies. These sectors are expected to play a critical role in enhancing industrial competitiveness and driving future economic growth.
During the visit, EECO also presented the investment potential of the EEC and the Eastern Economic Corridor of Digital (EECd), highlighting Thailand’s readiness to support investments in data centers, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), automation systems, and other digital industries. The discussions further covered Thailand’s investment promotion policies, incentives, and business opportunities available to international investors. The mission is expected to create new opportunities for Thailand–China cooperation in advanced technology industries, particularly in drones, robotics, automation, and smart manufacturing. It also lays the groundwork for future collaboration in research and development, technology transfer, innovation partnerships, and the development of highly skilled talent to support next-generation industries. From an investment perspective, the visit helped strengthen confidence among Chinese investors and technology companies in Thailand’s potential as a regional hub for innovation and advanced industries. The discussions are expected to lead to further feasibility studies, business matching activities, and continued exchanges between public and private sector stakeholders from both countries, paving the way for future investment projects in the EEC.
EECO believes that this mission marks another important step in expanding Thailand–China cooperation, enhancing investor confidence, and reinforcing the EEC’s position as a regional hub for technology, innovation, and future industries. Such collaboration will contribute to Thailand’s long-term economic transformation and strengthen the country’s competitiveness in the global digital economy.
